@woodkissfurniture .. How does this wood hold up outdoors in the rain & humidity of Fl...or does it need to be kept on a porch?

@honeydipper20 i would not put this table outdoors unless like you mentioned its kept in a covered porch. However a Cedar table would hold up well outdoors since it does not rot and is termite safe.

  5. cjd_designs says:

@honeydipper20 you would need to use like a spar urethane for outdoor use

@cjd_designs thanks Joe I have no experience with spar urethane so I have nothing to go off πŸ˜‰

@woodkissfurniture how thick do you usually make your tabletops? 8/4 or 4/4?

  12. woodkissfurniture says:

@jdnaset this is regular 2x8 pine not exactly 8/4 since that is slightly larger than 1 1/2 inches thick while the 2x8 is 1 1/2 . long story short I plane them down a bit to get them straight and smooth. Depending on the boards it could be between 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 inches thick hope that helps.

@woodkissfurniture you ever have any problems with pine being to soft for your tabletops??
