    @woodfloorbusiness So the 50 mil paper protects from spills but still allows outgassing? If so that's pretty awesome. Good πŸ“–πŸ‘€

    As long as the final coat is done and the floor guy gets paid in full, cool. If there is more work to be done before getting paid ,the floor guy is a newbie . There will be trade damage and it should cost extra to repair. This floor will never look as good as a floor that was done last. But every finish Carpenter is a fairy princess that couldn't possibly do their job unless the floor is practically done and we floor guys can suck up their trade damage. No thanks, next job.

    @moderntechwf AMEN!

    @twangerin they seemed surprised that an old man that does none of his own labor will sign up his boys for a bulshit job and claim technological advances are what makes it easy for him. With the liability disclaimer longer than any of the other paragraphs. Saying something is possible, is not saying it's intelligent. For Greedy owners that don't have to do any of the labor, Anything is Possible. I swear the refinishing Market above $10,000 is the lowest end work in our profession.

    @twangerin @moderntechwf For what it's worth, the contractor who wrote this article, Michael Purser, does the labor himself, along with his brother and another guy. He's been doing this for a long time. This floor is at Henry Ford's historical estate in Dearborn, Michigan.

    @woodfloorbusiness I'm 31 and I've been in this industry for 14 years. My knees are about done. I've got about 16 more years before I can retire comfortably. I would be a lunatic to stay in this industry a day longer. A majority of our industry is done on the backs of people called another guy , with big names taking all the credit and money. It's the peak level of amusing when you can look at an owner and know they are incapable of making their own way, on their own back. These are the people you assume are reading your magazine. When in reality laborers making under 30 grand a year, that eat at 7-11and McDonald's are who read your magazine. When you start pandering to them, you will get higher traffic and more likes. However they will never donate, they will just buy the products you advertise.
